Becky Packer – Grade 3/4

My name is Becky Packer.  I grew up in Novato, California and attended Chico State where I got a degree in Physical Education, and then a teaching credential. Later I went back to school to get a Reading Certification and an Administrative Service Credential.  I am married and have two step-daughters and four grandchildren. I love to cook, garden, create things and travel.  I enjoy reading, sports, music and learning.
I have been teaching for many years and have been privileged to experience a wide variety of schools, from a tiny school in Bodega Bay with 60 students, to a large urban school in Santa Rosa, with 600 students.  Two of the most powerful experiences for me as a teacher have been learning about and using integrated thematic instruction, and teaching in a multi-age classroom. It is my personal philosophy that these provide for a unique learning experience for students and empower them to create their own learning.  I am looking forward to being a part of Wildflower Open Classroom Charter School!
