We are very excited to kick off the new After School Program and equally stoked about the new member of our team!

Emma Schutz Fort grew up in Chico and is a proud graduate of open structure classroom.  She went away to work at summer camp and attend UC Santa Cruz for college.  Emma graduated with her Master’s in Psychology two years ago and is working on getting her Marriage, Family Therapy License. Emma has worked with children in many roles including volunteer classroom aide, summer camp counselor, tutor, after school program director, preschool teacher, social-emotional curriculum facilitator, one-on-one counselor and co-teacher of art and poetry.  Emma loves playing, being in nature, laughing, being goofy, making art of all kinds, writing poetry, riding her bike, growing edibles, and helping kids express their imaginations. Emma is thrilled to be the After School Program Coordinator.

Aligned with the WOC philosophy, this program is available to families of WOC students between 1st and 8th grades, and will provide fun-filled activities for three hours after the conclusion of the school day!
